Ougi
The folding fan Ougi which was first developed in Japan during the Heian era, is referred to as suehiro for its shape that opens outwardly. Ougi, with its beautifully adorned walls, partitions, and ceiling, is characterized by graceful elegance.
The ceiling features a scattering of reproduction of 15 works created by Tessai Tomioka and other famous painters of the Meiji era.
A separate room features a kujyotsuchi wall of brilliant cobalt blue and a zougan sunken fireplace framed in wood decorated with intricate inlay of fan motifs.
The washroom features a makie fan. Elegance is the style.
